But years ago I wrote novels with dark themes to them, and I always heard in my mind the music of The Cure.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2096771745557892359.post-54504147921200520282010-05-04T09:32:12.451-04:002010-05-04T09:32:12.451-04:00Sarah - glad you are a Doors fan too- and a music/...Sarah - glad you are a Doors fan too- and a music/writer lover as well :) My cuz and I are huuuuuge music lovers and are constantly trying to find ways to mash the two of them together- speaking of "mash" new Glee tonight- YEAH!Marquita Hockadayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15931541485018513281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2096771745557892359.post-26217519555963555542010-05-04T07:48:34.372-04:002010-05-04T07:48:34.372-04:00I'm not sure if it would work in a film versio...I'm not sure if it would work in a film version of my WiP, but while writing it I listened to TONS of Radiohead, Animal Collective and Grizzly Bear. The story takes place in kind of misty, woodsy areas, so I think atmospheric alternative rock fits the bill!

I love thinking about how music and writing fit together, because I am such a visual person. When listening or reading I am always picturing something in my mind, so they seem to work together well. I will most def. read Looking for Anita and hear ABBA in my mind the whole time :)Marquita Hockadayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15931541485018513281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2096771745557892359.post-73776551658556928752010-05-03T11:41:40.105-04:002010-05-03T11:41:40.105-04:00This is so up my alley. The music is varied and timely...and usually very personal. My latest published novel, Looking for Anita, is all ABBA, Bee Gees, and some other late 70s pop faves.Wendy Ramer, Authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17430380409796887696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2096771745557892359.post-43783415475639469682010-05-03T10:07:21.824-04:002010-05-03T10:07:21.824-04:00Wow, great question! If a preview uses a song that I like, I'm paying more attention to the screen (see: 30 Days of Night, Clash of the Titans, etc.) I think for my manuscript, I would use "Color Blind" by The Counting Crows, or that James Morrison song about the pieces not fitting-you know the name of it.

BTW, Nightmare was pretty awesome, but Robert Englund will always be Freddy.

2nd BTW, stop calling Chasing Manson a POS!Pam Harrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09872183610393667619noreply@blogger.com
